I would also Highly suggest you save every few years. Even selecting them to quick build they still do this, so limit yourself at any one time. The workers have a habit of starting work then going to do another one, and this does not help in the slightest. When building ensure you do not set up too many buildings to be built at one time. It was only noticeable after finishing the campaign. There has also been cases where my save froze my xbox when loading, so make sure you have time to finish the mission in case this happens for you. There apparently is a bug where if you mix sandbox and challenge types before fully finishing the campaign it may bug out. There is one other thing I feel I should mention: you should make sure to do the game in order as done here. For each map I will give rough builds and guidelines of what exports you should have in order for you to get on your feet, but events are random so something may differ. The only time you should ever focus on tourism is if the mission says for you to do so otherwise focus on exports and stopping people from taking power from you. Tourism can bring in some income however it is still not as good as exporting by a long shot. The best way is to organise exports through cheap mining, as well as either tobacco, then cigar factory or pineapple and fishing, then going with canneries. So you should be aware that if you fail to setup your exports right at the start of the game you will be hampered. Tropico is all about building a stable city and being able to make more money than you spend. Fisherman's wharfs can also lessen pollution but it is not required for the achievement my environment was sitting on 40 out of 100 for example. They always are low I gave up and worked on everyone else but if you do want them up you must take green thumb under qualities in order to stand a chance, and set power plants and oil refinery's to less pollution under their info tab. Rise to power can be flexible and influential when chasing down certain achievements.Īlso environment is one of the hardest ones to get up with so much traffic and power plants to please everyone else.
Liberty was another one I had huge issues with getting up until building a power plant with radio and tv towers which I rarely did for most of the campaign. Also a 10% slower production, due to fully staffed buildings, didn't seem to impact me one bit. So having a +10% boost right at the start is good when building up your city, being a gambler seemed one of the less impacting flaws and the amounts gambled really didn't bother me each month. The bulk of your income will be from exports and due to random events and prices can be up and down.
I never had issues once I set up a high school, a college and then edict I did not even need to build another school or college as it was fully staffed and never ever full. Including adding the edict on time it takes little time at all to get college trained workers without paying the silly costs. Faster education means workers are properly trained up within no time.
